Should I take off my hijab for unit or continue wearing it to not cause severe drama ?

Or should I just wear it for my parents/in case I get caught

I really don’t want the stress of getting caught

Or being outed to my parents by someonelse

To distract me from my studies

But I also know I have to take it off cuz it’s driving me insane

I don’t want to wear and I never have

I would like to be religious it’s jusy appearance wise that irritates me so much

Idk what’s the smart move here

I’m thinking of just not wearing it and if it goes bad put on the following semester

It’s just 3 months for the summer semester

Plus I’ll be commuting from my home

Forget about religion. This is your life, and it's your choice whether or not to be miserable.

I was in the exact same situation, except that my father was potentially dangerous. He hit my mother and I called the cops. I have been pretending to be muslim for 4 going on to 5 years now to protect myself.

Decide what is worth fighting for. I have decided to move away and be free. I have already cut off my abusive father. It is entirely up to you.

umm that's your decision. You don't have to wear the hijab if you don't want to.

It is your choice as an adult, but remember there are consequences to all actions, whether good or bad. I like to go with the old saying, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do". I also believe you should do as your own heart tells you. Some traditions are outdated. Men who cannot control themselves are the ones who deserve punishment, not a woman walking on the street, minding her own business. Just my opinion. I wish you happiness and contentment in whatever choice you make! : )

Salam. No you are not allowed to take off your hijab because wearing it is mandatory based on the Qur'an 24:31 and 33:59 as commanded by Allah swt for showing your modesty, easy identity as Muslim girl, you would not be disturbed by bad guys and you will be protected by Allah from hell fire. You should fear Allah only because its punishment is very hard. You must accept it with ikhlash so you would not be insane. or stress. You must strengthen your faith or iman You must keep be patient and you must obey to your parents and grateful to Allah swt.It is better if you recite the Qur'an and understand its meaning gradually every day although just only one or two verses a day.

You should wear it to please Allah.

You will gain reward at the end. So it's worth the struggle.

    All the best.

You are an adult. You are not property. You have the right to do anything legal. You have the right to practice your religion or not practice it.

Part of the reason why Americans dislike Muslims is that unlike any other immigrant group, Muslims are resistant to becoming Americanized. We don't mind how you pray or anything about your customs; but wearing headscarves, masks, robes, etc. give us the opinion that you want to self-segregate.
