Why does one have to put their finger under the top bullet of the clip to reload a Mosin-Nagant?

    I don`t do that. If you put your finger under the top Cartridge there is no room for 5 because your finger is in the way. What kind of technique is this? Post a picture or link.

    I simply insert the bottom of the loaded clip of 5 in the slot and press down with thumb.
