Religion and Spirituality, are people innately good or bad by nature?

Humans are innately compassionate, but territorial. Social but violent. Good or bad are judgments. Are dogs good by nature, or bad? How about Coyotes? Neither. They are what they are.

Human nature cannot be so easily summed up. So many elements come into play--environment, upbringing, genetic traits, personal choice, etc. BUT if I am limited to either Good or Bad--my answer is Bad.

We are all sick with the disease of sin. Like any other disease, it can & does manifest itself in ways which vary widely from person to person. For instance, some people sin by abusing their partners, others by murdering millions while telling themselves their victims were inferior beings. Still others sin by cheating on their income taxes, & some people suffer from terrible diseases. (This is not repeat NOT to say that anyone is to blame for their own illnesses. They suffer because disease exists in the world, & disease exists because SIN is in the world).

If you go back far enough, all sins can be traced back to Adam's & Eve's sins in the Garden of Eden. They allowed sin to infect them, & every generation since then has been infected with it. Jesus Christ is the only Cure 💒👑🕊

The fact of the matter: We all are evil, unless God the LORD Jesus Christ our LORD and Savior, saves us and takes us out of the kingdom of Satan and puts us into the kingdom of God the LORD Jesus Christ our LORD and Savior, by making us a new creature of God, and giving us a brand new soul, so we never want to sin against God Holy Word the Bible, never again, then we will be at peace with God, because everyone that is unsaved is at war with God, because they are in the kingdom of Satan and sin and serve the god of the dead Satan and love the things of this world, and will mock and scoff at God Holy Word the Bible, because they will do the will of their master Satan the god of the dead, who is the enemy of God the LORD Jesus Christ our LORD and Savior, the God of the living only. Only after we are truly saved are we good, an a true believer of God Holy Word the Bible only.

Innately evil. Jeremiah says "The heart is evil above all things and who can know it." And "It is not within man to direct his own steps."

Good AND bad.
