Are canvas anti slip shoes acceptable for work?
I'm going to work at a jack in the box (fast food) and my boss already told me to get my uniform ready. I already bought the pants and belt, and the shirt will be given to me but I have doubts about my shoes. I ordered some anti slip shoes online that are made of canvas. Would they be suitable for me to wear in a fast food environment? Or would leather suit me better? Thanks

that's alright but the fast food places use a different cleaner for the floors to avoid them being slippery when wet

Not in the U.K., as if you spill hot food or hot water it will burn the top of your foot.
And it does happen in busy kitchens.
Check with management.

If canvas uppers are acceptable, definitely go for them. They are so much more comfortable than leather when you are on your feet all day. Good luck.

There are specific anti-slip shoes -- if that is what you ordered you should be fine.

The soles of the shoes determine the anti-slip properties.
You can ask your boss about the shoes. If canvas uppers are OK, then there is no problem. If they insist on leather uppers, then you will have to ask your boss what shoe they might recommend.
Or, ask another worker where they get their shoes.
