What is your potty training experience? Was it easy? Did you have to bribe your child or give some kind of reward when they did it good?

It's easy when the child is ready and able to learn, hard when the child is not ready. The child should capable of indicating the need to go, making it to the bathroom on their own, and be able to remove the necessary (minimal) clothing by themselves. If you try to do it earlier, you're just making it harder on both of you.
Plan on staying home for a couple of weeks during the training period. Toddlers can't wait while you search for a bathroom.

Well, personally as someone who was recently potty trained they bribed me with rocks from the Galuna River.

Bribing is worthless. You can't bribe a bladder into maturing or hormones into being produced. If your child's bladder is mature, they simply start to feel the urge to go, and start going. When they're ready, it takes a matter of days at most (nights can take longer due to hormone production). If you push before they're ready, it's going to be hard.
