You should take care of yourself before helping others. If you don't take good care of yourself first, you probably won't be able to help others.

Ask for a tutor.
If your grades aren't what they could be, YOU should be upset.
It's wonderful to rescue animals (and how are you doing that?) - but if your schoolwork isn't being done well, it doesn't matter. Your first job is to do as well in school as possible, and that is not for your mother- it's for you. If you cannot keep up with your schoolwork, you should ask for a tutor to help you stay focused and get the work done right.
If your mother won't listen to that, speak to your guidance counselor. Your mother is not wrong to restrict your use of electronic stuff if it's distracting you. Buckle down and do the work, and you'll get it back- and if you need extra help, ASK for it. But know there are thousands of people rescuing animals, and the most effective thing you can do to rescue animals is to get good grades in school, get a good job, and contribute to spay/neuter funds and humane societies that have volunteers on the ground.
