What would you do if you witness a child being bullied by a group of bullies?
So I had a warning from the police today for threatening behaviour towards a girl who was bullying and humiliating some boy in front of her friends on a bus.
I never said anything threatening nor threatened them, just asked them how they feel being a bunch of cowards, I may have embarassed the bully in front of her mates, but she was horrible and threatening towards this boy sat on his own...
The boy was obviously distressed and I felt sorry for him. I don't know who the boy was.
What would you do?

I would tell them off and defend the kid like you did

I would go stand between the bullies and their target, and tell the bullies off. You did the right thing.

I do a walk by slap down. Walk by, give a hard full palm to the ear of the bully, say, oops, sorry, and keep walking. Their ear will be ringing and their equilibrium off for a week.

TBH I would probably stare at the bully, roll my eyes and tutt loudly, hoping they hear me, say something to me which would then give me an excuse to intervene. I wouldn't go straight in like you unless it was getting physical. I don't understand why the police were involved, you weren't doing anything illegal and it hasn't got anything to do with them really.

I'd have done the same and I would have claimed compensation from the police for abuse of process.

If people who witness bullying don't try to do something to stop it, then they ARE just as guilty of the abuse as the bullies.
