You will likely be called within the week to schedule an appointment. After he appraises the house, he will likely have his report emailed within a couple of days.

I usually have an answer within 7-10 days but it can be twice that if the appraiser is really busy (or really lazy).

There is no way to tell you because its all in the hands of the appraiser. I would say 1-2 weeks to be on the safe side. but if you are looking for a quick close, don't forget about the termite guy, title search guy, your home inspector (don't rely on the FHA appraisal) and the closing attorney.

Depends how busy the inspector is.

Totally depends on how busy the appraisers are. I order appraisals at my job (mortgage lender 32 years).. they are taking 3-4 weeks right now because they are so busy! Once they actually see the house we normally get it back in 3-4 days.

Normally an appraisal is completed in about a week. Mortgage lenders would not allow a long dragged out procedure to receive an appraiser. In the mortgage lending business, time is of the essence. It would not matter if an appraisal office is busy or not. Appraisals are done in the order they are received. If an appraisal is requested by a mortgage lender on Monday, this appraisal would be completed prior to an appraisal requested on Tuesday.

I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck.

Depending on how busy a local market is, an appraisal can take place within days of the lender's request, or it can take up to 2 or 3 weeks. Again, depending on how busy a local market is, appraisers can get their reports out in a day or a week.

    Maybe a week.

Depends on how busy the appraiser is - I have had them take one day and I have had them take a week and a half. And, unluckily, you are not allowed to contact the appraiser to hurry up the process (technically, if you contact the appraiser, that could be considered interference and the lender can shut down the mortgage)
