Hell yes there is offensive driving. That's why everyone needs to learn defensive driving, in fact.

Like the other answers, offensive drivers seem to gravitate towards really expensive "status symbol" vehicles. But that doesn't mean you won't find them driving Honda sedans, Chevy minivans or even those little-girl SUV's from Toyota. Offensive drivers are anyone who doesn't play well with others on the roadway, and they're everywhere.

That jerk who cut you off yesterday, that moron who turned left from the right lane last week, or that obnoxious hillbilly bastrd who drove inches from your back bumper with his high beams on one night are all perfect examples of offensive driving. My personal favourite was a customer of mine (let's call him Lumpy, since privacy laws exist) who constantly complained about paying too much for his insurance, since he had a perfect driving record. His 'perfect' driving record listed 18 minor traffic convictions within the last 3 years, one 30-day suspension (for points of course), and he had only been driving for four years. Some people, including Lumpy, just don't understand that public roads aren't their own personal playground.

And get this, it's actually against the law to smack some common sense into them. You're not allowed to hit them with your vehicle, not with a weapon, not even with your hand. You just have to grit your teeth, say a few choice words, and rely on your own defensive driving skills to avoid getting killed by them.

Some people do it. Pretty stupid though.

    The opposite of defensive.

It is usually called "aggressive driving." Here in Arizona it is a misdemeanor if convicted twice in two years.

Of course, almost anywhere it can get you killed.

Ask any NYC cab driver. It's not that they are bad drivers, just that they are aggressive. They have to be or they would never get anywhere.

Yes, there is such a thing as offensive driving.

It is where you deliberately take actions to inconvenience, injure or kill other road users. It's used by many military drivers.
