I have my own car and I pay for my own gas, yet my parents still make me ask them if I can go anywhere.?
Like, honestly its my money so why do I have to ask? Please if there is a parent on here, explain this to me.
I always make sure there's not any plans that I'm interfering with... But they make me ask every single time and sometimes they won't let me because they say im wasting their gas... but I paid for it!!!!

I think it all depends on your age. If you're a legal adult then I could see why it gets annoying but if you're still under 18, I could get them wanting you to ask. My parents don't make me ask (I'm an adult) but I always tell them where I'm going just for safety reasons and so they don't worry. It could also be a control thing on their end. You seem very independent and that can be intimidating to a parent, especially if they feel like they're losing you as you get further into adulthood/independence. I certainly doubt that they're doing it to purposefully annoy or frustrate you.

Well, it's good you pay for the gas, but that doesn't stop them from being your parents! If they're good parents (meaning somewhat strict) you still need their permission to come and go. Also, do you pay for things like title, registration and insurance? That also means they get a say, but the biggest thing is you live in their home and have to follow their rules.
I went away to college and when I was home for summer and breaks, I still had to do what they said until I was 22, graduated and moved away.

What is YOUR age? If you are a minor, then THEY RULE until you are legal age. That is the law, SORRY.

It's so they have a chance to guide you down the right path. If they let their precious offspring (really) just wander off whenever you felt like it who knows what kind of trouble you might get into. There's also the chance you'd miss dinner.

Because they want to know where you are going, so if something goes wrong, thy will know where you were if you don't come home.
