How long do you have to live in Svalbard to get Norwegian citizenship ?

    You don't have to know where Svalbard is to become a citizen of Norway.

    Residing there your entire life doesn't make you a citizen.

    You need special permission to live on Svalbard. It's primarily a scientific research facility, with extremely limited housing. And if you are a scientist authorized to work on research there, you don't get any citizenship for it. You don't even get permanent residency in Norway for it.
