Is there any policy that prevents college employees to date students?

Well there is this girl in my college, she's not a teacher but she an employee and I caught her looking at me couple of times i really like her and she seems to be interested too. I talked to her couple of times but I'm afraid to ask her out I feel it's inappropriate to ask out since she's working and some of her colonies might see us. I recently found out her department and also her email address. Do you guys think it's a good way to talk to her via her email or I should talk to her regardless of putting her in jeopardy. I would appreciate some feedbacks from you guys thanks
