Is it true that there is someone out there for everyone?

Update:

And if that's true, if you're someone who's better off alone, does that mean the person who's out there for you is ALSO someone who's better off alone?

That's a tough question to answer. In theory there should be. There are 3.8 billion human females on this planet and 3.8 human males, so it follows that there should be someone out there for everyone. The challenge is in finding that right person, and some people never do. Some people settle for a mate who they may not be they had hoped for, but will suffice. Some people don't bother at all. I apologize if I sound cynical, but I'm just stating the truth.

I personally do not subscribe to the notion that there is a one-to-one soul mate for everyone. Rather I believe there are groups of men and women, who are ideal for us, based on age, personality, geography, etc. We just have work on trying to find him/her.
