Is it best for government branches to be controlled by opposing parties, so gridlock itself will prevent gov't from doing bad things?

The idea behind having more than one party is not to create gridlock. It is exactly the opposite, it is to make people come together and work towards a consensus that is best for the people. What you have now is one party that is in charge of the house, senate, and the white house. There is no consensus, and the people are not being helped. What you have is single party control that only helps the party and those who support the party. Currently the government is not doing things for the people of this country unless those people are either millionaires or billionaires.

We need to clean house, "Drain The Swamp" and remove all of Trump's people out of office.
