I'm a special ed assistant and I worked in an elementary school last year. I prefer to work with the secondary students. Who do I need to talk to about that and what is the likelihood they will transfer me?

It is doubtful they would transfer you once the school year started unless they really needed someone at the HS. You should talk to the people in human resources.
If you can't transfer this year, there is likely a process to request a transfer next year. Ask HR about that process when you speak with them.
