Is it worth it to get a business Administration degree?

I have a business management degree (associates) and could not find a job. The only job I found was filing and Climbing ladders. I was making 11 an hour but I need more money to support my family. Is it a good idea to get a bachelors in business or is it going to be the same result as the associates degree in business?

Any business related degree is really stupid in my opinion. Sure, it will land you a job at the end of the day. But you will be a desk jockey for the remainder of your life and a slave to corporate America. Go into a specialty if you don't want to be someone's *****.

Associate's in business is very minimal education, and only qualifies you for the lowest level positions. E.g. even an associate's in accounting generally qualifies you for no more than accounting clerk, data entry - e.g. payroll clerk. A bachelor's degree is really the minimum for business-related degrees, and they are a glut on most job markets around the world these days.

How badly do you want to get into the business world? What's your aim? And do you find you have a "real head for business" - talent in that field?

Stop and think about it for a moment. What value can you offer a business with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration? You certainly will not be the manager. Most business grads get clerical jobs.

To earn a decent salary you will need an academic or vocational degree from a well ranked university. That would then be followed by training by your employer and work experience. After 3 to 5 years you can consider an MBA but not if you did business as your undergraduate degree.

Business management is a very general degree and it is the reason why you cannot find a higher paying job. You do not have enough expertise in any subject nor the experience required to be qualified for a better role. A bachelors degree will help you qualify for more positions, but I would suggest focusing on a specific job and working towards it. Your major should be Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Accounting, etc. ... not general Business Administration or Business Management.
