What's with Apple iPod Air 2?

Update:

Bought an Apple iPad Air 2 about a year ago and finally got around to opening the box a few days ago (don't ask why). My desk top and my laptop both connect via WiFi with my router when I choose to do so. However, the iPad refuses to connect to WiFi (gives me the old "Choose another network" pop up.)''

My router is a Verizon MI424WR cable modem and WiFi router which I suspect may be the problem (at least in part). Any Solutions? Suggestions? Hints? Smart-A$$ answers?
