Bleach-like stains on my towels?
About a couple months ago I bought new towels from Walmart, nice colored ones. Now they have bleach looking stains on them. I use natural laundry liquid soap and I don't put it directly on the towels, I wait until the water fills up first. I don't use any bleach in my washer, which is a top loader washer. Could it be something I'm using on my face/body? I do have a white cloth to dry my face with, but I'm also having the stains on bath towels as well. Maybe I'm doing something wrong while I wash them? I just bought some off-white and tan hand towels and I remember not having a problem with those colors (we'll see), only with blues, greys which is what I have right now. Is there something I can do to prevent bleaching? I also have the same issue with pillowcases as well. I'd hate to keep buying towels and I know it gets expensive.
Thanks for any help!! :)

It is probably your facial products. MANY face washes and acne products will bleach cloth. Benzoyl Peroxide, Hydrogen Peroxide, and Hydroquinone are all well known to ruin towels and sheets. Unfortunately, your best option is to buy white sheets and towels or stop using products with these ingredients.

A lot of what others said could be the reason. It could also be that there is something in your washer or dryer that is doing it. My washer, for example, had a leak in a bearing and was leaving oil stains on clothes now and then. Clean you washer and dryer really well and see if that helps. It is probably just the fabric, though.. I got a package of 12 washcloths at Walmart and every single color ran like crazy even after they were washed a few times. I use them for cleaning now.

Itmight be the detergent or it might be your skin products. When my elder child had acne problem he had acne cream which stained all the pillow cases as if they had bleech stains on them. Do u use acne creams?

Walmart. There is your answer. Get some decent towels. Cannon or Martex. Or splurge and get expensive towels made in Turkey.

I'm wondering if the dye used in the foreign country those towels were manufactured in is just lousy dye, or maybe the fabric itself is some low grade super cheap fabric. Foreigners always use the cheapest of everything.

If you're getting the same stains on towels and pillowcases and you don't use bleach in the washer then I'd say it has to be something you are using before the stuff gets into the washer. Check the labels on any face/body products, see if there are any warnings like 'don't get it on your clothes'. Benzoyl peroxide, for one, can leave bleached marks on fabric.
