In response to the first question, "What are the benefits of Christian Suffering?" ... As James 1:2-3 states:

"Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow."

    Romans 5:3-5 expands further:

"We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment."

The benefit of suffering is the actual lived experience of suffering, and thus knowledge and understanding of suffering. Through all our sufferings -- our "crosses", trials, temptations, pressures, stresses, and pains in life -- we gain insights into the causes and conditions of suffering. Once we understand what causes suffering we can then understand cessation of suffering, resulting in freedom, liberation, and peace. As Acts 14:22 states,

"We must suffer many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God."

Personally knowing first hand the contentment and joy that comes from such freedom leads us in serving others who, just like us, also experience suffering -- for "blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted" (Matt 5:4). Suffering is painful, there's no doubt about this. But through patient endurance and deep looking it can be a cause for much insight, wisdom, and understanding, as well as compassion, peace, and most importantly, love.

In response to the second question, "Why does Hyper Grace preachers neglect the truth about Suffering?" ... Honestly I don't know. But my guess would be that the priorities of many preachers are numbers -- attendance numbers, financial numbers, volunteer numbers, etc. In other words, many preachers are focused on appeasing the masses, and in general the masses don't want to hear about suffering and be challenged by the unpleasant truths of reality. Many people rather prefer what's comfortable, easy, and pleasant. As the saying goes, "Ignorance is bliss."

Thanks for the question. May much peace, love, and joy be with you :)

Human suffering is a continual reminder to all that willful separation from God hurts US.

He never made nor intended for us to live apart from him and to make our own ways. He put us here to love and serve him and each other. When we don't, we suffer.

Suffering will do one of two things for us:

1- crush and destroy us - and make us curse God

    OR

2- make us stronger and bring us closer to God for his supernatural comfort and strength

2Co 12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Like my dad says, what doesnt kill you makes you stronger

A person can live a more loving and virtuous life by reciting daily and with care the angelic psalter of the Virgin Mary. Long-suffering is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. The Immaculate Virgin is His spouse.

Here are just several benefits of Christian Suffering: 1) It develops faith (James 1:2-4) 2) It exposes sin and wrong thinking (1 Corinthians 11:30 & James 5:13-15) 3) Through it, we learn obedience to God (Hebrews 5:8) 4) It cultivates humility (2 Corinthians 12:7) 5) It Glorifies God (1 Peter 4:16 & John 9:1-3

There are no benefits to suffering. People who believe they must suffer for their faith are insane. I understand that somewhere in the bible it says that the early christians would have to suffer for their faith, but that was because it was an illegal cult. Those caught worshipping would be put to death in very gruesome ways. We now accept christianity as a legitimate faith, so there is no reason to suffer for it anymore.

I guess they just use the lies that they already know.

The idea is that suffering teaches humility, but given the entrenched position of privilege that Christianity enjoys here in America, there is no suffering, and no humility.

Of course, plenty of Christians feel that any infringement of their privileged status is equal to "suffering" and "persecution."

  • Well, for one, any suffering we experience is 'loving Father filtered.' This means, that it is meaningful, it is meant to shape our character and conform us to the image of Christ. Without God, suffering is random and pointless.

It gives Christians the false impression that they are the chosen pets of their invisible friend.
