Christians, if the bible is inspired by god, why did it take 325 years for bishops to invent the Nicene Creed at the Council of Nicaea?
I'm pretty sure most christians never heard of Nicaea but it is in fact a REAL HISTORICAL event where the basic christian belief was INVENTED BY MEN. God was not present and did not vote in the matter.

It took that long for the for told apostasy to occur.
Jesus stated the wicked one would plant weeds among the wheat.

Educated and informed Christians are fully aware of the Council of Nicaea. It makes sense that limited and imperfect human beings would take a while to listen to God and articulate that clearly enough to discern the truth. There were a number of councils before that too.

A meeting is not an invention.
Actually, it took 325 years for a country to make a new religion the official religion and to choose among dozens of interpretations of the scriptures.
If in a couple of centuries your country decides to set Islam or Pastafarism as the state religion, there certainly be a Council to vote the rules.
As an atheist, I would be shocked a modern day country chooses a state religion, but what happened 1700 years ago in Turkey sounds quite normal to me.

That's one reason why I don't adhere to a Creed. They made things up, even a list or two. God didn't give us those lists, and there is likelihood something on those lists is rhetoric, sophistry, even injurious. In my mind, the Nicene Creed was an attempt for people to have essential values of what God demanded. That might work for some people. I hope it does help. But they shouldn't think they are the only ones who are saved.

The BuyBull has been edited so many times, it barely looks like the original.
It isn't the Inerrant Word of GOD.
It should be called: The Edited Word of Constantine

You are right. The bible is a compilation of records and the Nicene creed is a set of doctrines voted on by men. I believe that God's hand was in the preservation of the bible records but the bible was not written by God.
Throughout history, whenever the people had sufficient faith to follow a living prophet, God provided one. In times when prophets were rejected, the people instead based their faith on men's interpretation of the words of dead prophets.

Its not a conspiracy. Nobody is trying to hide anything.

Christianity was young then, and, there were all sorts of ideas. It was just becoming tolerated in the Roman Empire, and it was decided that the (relatively) new faith needed a "statement of faith," basically laying out what Christians believe. The Nicean Creed does exactly that.
Sure, it was written by people, but, so was the Bible!

They won't care to address that. But they will likely call you names.
Might be fun to see the antics though.
