Communism would have failed in Communist China except for the American Capitalist who formed partnerships with the Communist to manufacture goods in China using labor with no say in salary or benefits.

The Communist Chinese manufactured goods are sold in America by the American Capitalist and the profits are shared with the Communist Chinese Government that owns all the factories in China. .

The Soviet Union was spending over 60% of GDP on the arms and space race. China was biding its time. And then dropped any pretence at being a communist regime.

Look up the 'Sino-Soviet split' on google. Soviets exercised true communism which they helped implement in China. This led to mass poverty, mass starvation and increased corruption due to bad management.

China split with Stalinist communism and opened the door for capitalism. Many western capitalist corporations were offered entry into their market with dirt cheap labor. China also allowed private businesses to flourish in its region with low regulation.

Chinese gov. still had control of certain sectors, which it had slowly been privatizing in the last several decades, but with private companies running in the country with minimal regulation they are far from communistic, though their gov. is still strong and using much of its assets to lift poorer regions of the country.

USA is considered capitalist but private companies in China are far less regulated by the gov. than the USA. In E. Europe private trade only existed in the black market [illegally]. Same situation as N. Korea

Because Chinese version isn’t Communism, it's not even close. It’s literally “we will allow you to make money if you allow us to rule”. In the early 80's Deng Chow Peng saw that his people were starving to death whereas Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea right next door were going gang busters. So he started out by setting a rice quota for the farms and once the quota was made they could either keep or sell the rest. China went from a net importer of rice to a huge exporter in a matter of three years. They also had fruit, vegetables, chicken and hogs to sell. It was so successful he allowed capitalism into other areas of the economy and it obviously took off like a rocket.

Chinese Communism is communism in name only. They are essentially a totalitarian capitalist society. They embrace capitalism, but the Party runs everything.

Communism in Russia failed because the government followed the original precepts laid-out by Stalin and didn't change, and communism completely ruined the entire economy, which has still never recovered to this day. In China, they pick-&-chose what will be communist & what will be capitalist. Their government allows private ownership of stuff, which pure communism does not. There economy is increasingly not communist, but their government is.

Mao killed any people that didn't agree with the ideology,so there was no opposition...Europeans are quite nationalistic by nature, and hated communism.Plus they were economically pisspoor.
