When believers claim that they 'know' their 'god' exists, why can't they actually demonstrate this?

Knowledge is demonstrable, after all.

I know Jesus exists because I have a relationship with Him.

I can even demonstrate that relationship by answering your question gently and with His love for you.

You don't know Him yet but you can if you want to. He invites you to know Him- just like I do:) Then you will know He exists too.

They can't. It's the whole point of the faith.

You drop a piece of toast with Jam on and it lands Jam side up. An atheist says coincidence, a Christian claims god did it. It's a way to justify actions you can't explain. Everyone will try to apply reason to a situation using your own beliefs. For atheists in this case it's a coincidence or a fluke, for Christians since they believe coincidence does not exist, it's god

When you write "Knowledge is demonstrable, after all."

why can't you actually demonstrate that?

I don't claim that I know that God exists...

but also it's true that LOTS of knowledge is NOT "demonstrable". That is (to say it more precisely): LOTS of true knowledge is a type of knowledge that CANNOT be demonstrated to be true.

We have 4,000 years worth of this 'demonstrated' evidence, so most of us just stand perplexed by your chosen ignorance of it while many of you even continue to actually operate over an entire legal system based on 'rights' granted by the 'Self-Evident Creator.'

The U.S. founders were worldly, highly educated and ingenious men who debated the use of every term of the founding American documents before voting to accept each one. Yet none of them concluded that evidence for GOD was 'nonexistent.' In fact, they ALL saw it is 'self-evident.'

    So do I.

Of course, there is a reason why this 'self-evident' GOD suddenly 'vanished' from before our eyes. Men like yourself simply altered the perennial definition embraced by our ancestors and progenitors for more than 4,000 years.

    Poof! GOD was suddenly gone.

The original definition of a 'god' is "any measurable, observable and describable source of human inspiration that can be traced back to the founding of a society or civilization and which manifests recognizable and predictable mentalities, drives and methodologies within its inspired people."

We have such a 'god' today, which our ancestors would immediately recognize as a 'spider god.' They would even attribute the 'mental fog' preventing people like yourself from realizing they are worshiping this 'god' and the popularity of drug culture to its familiar influence. There is also 'GOD' the Creator Who is a completely distinct source of human inspiration which does NOT favor any particular animal methodologies or mentalities over others. His inspiration and His influence are recognized by 'checks and balances' never allowing any particular methodology to dominate and drive the others. Abandoning one of these other 'gods' for Him is called 'repentance' and immediately results in restored social balance, exhibitions of constructive genius and the end to looming civilizational threats, (ours happen to be 'terrorism,' weapons of mass destruction, mega-death from lethal sexual diseases, tides of incurable cancers from pervasive planetary poisoning, epidemics of drug overdose deaths, foolish risk-taking, etc...).

You choose NOT to see your 'world wide web' as part of a 'spider' fixation. You ignore the fact that committing sweat, blood and vast treasure to the construction and maintenance of infrastructure comprised of electrified lines, fine threads pulsing with intoxicating images, sounds and simulated realities, (even measured in 'bytes'), is a form of 'worship' by ALL known definitions given to us by our ancestors. You have not made the connection between this worship and 'hanging out' in social 'networks' or 'public spin.' You cannot see that your creepy 'science' is describing the origins of everything in the universe as though they erupted mysteriously from a glorified 'spider egg' containing all matter and energy, nor to you see how learning to 'externally spawn' young or 'gender shift' is also related to all of this.

These are each the result of a bizarre fixation on an ancient and well documented 'god.'

    Written 2,000 years ago:

"For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and CRAWLING CREATURES.

Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator..." (Romans 1:21-25)

If you think that what is happening now is 'cool' while you worship one of numerous documented 'fake' gods, (though a very real and well documented source of collective inspiration, just not 'GOD'), imagine how cool 'repenting' back to the true and only Creator GOD would be. The last time civilization actually did this, there was a massive and unprecedented tribal integration as delegates from every human tribe agreed to the terms of a new Covenant of universal forgiveness and brotherhood being offered to them by Jesus Christ. This culminated in the original 'university' system which made the 'modern' world itself possible. That 'evidence' will also be inherited by those who come after us. What they do with it and with the full body of evidence for GOD and 'gods' will likewise be up to them.

WE DO KNOW BUT U CANNOT SEE THE HOLY SPIRIT THAT GOD HAS PUT INTO OUR HEARTS...WE KNOW FOR SURE HE IS VERY REAL.

I am an atheist, but I do not think knowledge can always be demonstrated.

For instance, a famous biologist predicted years ago that naked mole rats existed. He knew there was an empty space in the ecosystem that something would have taken advantage of. It was many years after that they were discovered, but he could not demonstrate his knowledge at the time.

Of course, making a statement that something exists based on previous discoveries is a leap away from knowing something exists based on not a lot, but I believe theists KNOW gods exist. I just think they are wrong.

Something you think you know now will be proven wrong in your lifetime. Even scientific knowledge gets overridden occasionally.

"Many orthodox people speak as though it were the business of sceptics to disprove received dogmas rather than of dogmatists to prove them. This is, of course, a mistake. If I were to suggest that between the Earth and Mars there is a china teapot revolving about the sun in an elliptical orbit, nobody would be able to disprove my assertion provided I were careful to add that the teapot is too small to be revealed even by our most powerful telescopes. But if I were to go on to say that, since my assertion cannot be disproved, it is intolerable presumption on the part of human reason to doubt it, I should rightly be thought to be talking nonsense. If, however, the existence of such a teapot were affirmed in ancient books, taught as the sacred truth every Sunday, and instilled into the minds of children at school, hesitation to believe in its existence would become a mark of eccentricity and entitle the doubter to the attentions of the psychiatrist in an enlightened age or of the Inquisitor in an earlier time." It’s because atheists trick us

Because all religions are based on faith, and faith is the belief in something that can't or hasn't been proven as fact.
