Should I be concerned about a mole if I've had it my whole life?

I have this little mole on my ear right where I would have a piercing. People actually always mistaken it for an earring hole or whatever it's called. That's about how small it is. It's not weirdly shaped or anything but it does have a little bump. I know people say one factor to look out for when examining a mole for skin cancer is if it's 3D. I've had this since I was born though and it hasn't changed. Do you think it's still alright? It's not very noticeable at all so I don't know if I should point it out. Or do you think it's fine since I've had it forever? I'm just kind of paranoid.
