How do I stop being butthurt over small things? I don't drink or smoke. What is a sober person to do to escape from being butthurt?

Create a forcefield around ur mind and push out the negative thoughts and poisonous feelings like desire and hatred and stuff.

Not drinking or smoking has nothing to do with this.
Maturity does
There are few things in life its worth being butt hurt over
Its not that I always look for the silver lining, i just deal with reality
Being butthurt is sulking over what you WANT a situation to be but isnt,
accepting the reality of what is actually is and dealing with it, is much more productive
and that makes you feel better because you are not butthurt and you have done something to make yourself feel better

Don't dodge it, embrace it. There's nothing wrong with feeling things deeply. It's only a failing if being butthurt makes you react violently or in an argumentative way. What you need is to learn how to handle your feeling when someone hurts you over small things. That state of mind was and probably still is, referred to as having a 'sensitive nature'. Much better that way than an unfeeling brute.
