What did Seneca mean by, "Fortune has no jurisdiction over character?"?

I think he refers to:

➫ Fortune = Money

➫ Jurisdiction = Power to judge and apply the laws.

➫ Character = Personality

- The great features of the personality and character of people are mainly due to genetic inheritance, and not to the influence of environment or fortune.

- No, money only makes you more than you already are.

People always look for excuses and justifications for our actions or that of others. When we see a rich person being a bad person we think that money changed that person but the reality is that each individual has a character and a set of beliefs that are empowered when you have freedom and financial security.

A bad person will be even worse having money. But in the same way a good person will help more person having money.

Money does not change you, it only takes out the true part of you and increases it.

Money doesn't make you a better person. Or worse - for that matter. You are who you are.
