We are supposed to not marry outside of our belief system.

My wife is a Christian. In the UK this means she is completely ignorant of everything in the Bible except for the usual highlights. My daughter goes to the local Church of England school, it has a leaning towards Christianity, but most of the teachers know little about religion either.

So, my daughter is read the usual Bible stories, then she comes home and asks questions. Her Mum finds it difficult, fortunately there I am, ready to answer her awkward requests. I do not lie to her (apart from Santa, a bit awkward cos I am the school Santa) and I tell her what I think, what other religions think and what the teachers at her school leave out.

She can make up her own mind, I will love her no less, whatever she chooses.

I am not big on forcing children

    to do anything,

and don't think it is a good idea

    to try to force them

    to believe anything.

    I'm all about teaching them

    how to do useful things,

    and to think for themselves.

Both my exes were religious, Protestant and Catholic. Both sent my two sons to RE and catechism classes. I never said a thing to them. Both are now atheists.

One should not need to force his or her religion on children if they feel it is the true religion and that they can defend their beliefs using Gods word the Bible...

Force? No, this is why we shouldn't be mixing in relations with those outside the truth.
