How can I ask my crush out?
I am a 17 year old boy and i have a crush on another guy in my graphic design class. He's into similar things i'm into like urbex, art, photography, comics, and music. He's really funny and sweet. I want to ask him out on a date, but i have no idea what to do! please help!! also i need tips on how to recover/act normally if I'm rejected bc this is the first crush I've had in literal years so I don't know how to deal with feelings. I also was in a manipulative relationship for a while, and it f**ked up how I navigate this stuff.

I've been hurt before by past partners and it's hard moving on from them.
If I was you I'd just go over and speak to him face to face or via social media and ask him if he's free to do something. This could be something as simple as going to your house and talking... this will help you decide your next move if you still fancy him.
Try to avoid previous discussions about partners because as much as you may feel you need to talk to someone about it, this may put him off or make him believe you're not ready for a relationship.
If your first meet goes well by the end of the night just ask him if he wants to do something else, perhaps visit somewhere you'd both enjoy.

"Hey Steve, I really like talking to you between classes, and I think we have a lot in common. Would you want to go see a movie/get a coffee/go out for lunch with me sometime?"
If he says yes, then suggest a specific activity and a specific day/time. Ask for his number and follow up with a phone call. Don't leave it open-ended with "What do YOU want to do?" or "Anytime you want." Make specific plans. And CALL, don't text or Snapchat or whatever.
If he says no then say, "OK, thanks anyway" and drop it. Sometimes people just don't click, so don't take it personally. Someone's allowed to say no to a date with you, without it meaning he hates you or there's something wrong with you. Not everyone clicks, not everyone wants to date, not everyone may have romantic feelings for you even if they like you very much as a friend.
If he's rude or insulting in his reply, then you're better off without him. Again, no reflection on you as a person.
But if your last relationship has screwed with your mind as much as you say it has, then maybe work on that before you jump into another relationship. Your school counselor may have the resources to help you if you ask.

Ask him if he's gay. Observe his response and then make up your mind.
