Thoughts on this situation...?
Girlfriend of 8 months wants me to rush into getting her a ring and moving out to another state? She is un happy with her commute and wants to move. However, I do not want o move/potentially look for a new job until we are engaged or married. I understand a long commute is frustrating but, that is a big change and I really do not feel like I can do that move or would be ok with her moving there now and being so far apart. Thoughts?

A divorce is worse than a commute and trying to rush into marriage when you've only been dating for eight months would be sabotaging your own life.

Sorry, that's a huge red flag in my opinion. No one should ever be rushed into getting married, its a recipe for disaster. So my advice is to tell her she is going to have to wait till you feel better about this.

First of all, 8 months is a bit sort for marriage. Unless you are certain she is the one. Obviously, do not marry her because you are feeling pressured. That said, if you really like her, you can always try long distance. I mean how far apart would you two be really, another continent?
Regarding, changing your job. Do look at jobs at the area she wants. If you find some job offer that you LOVE anyway (you would take it whether you are in a relationship with her or not), you can apply. So make the decision for YOU, not for HER.

She needs to move. You need to stay. Things in your relationship are moving way too fast. She needs to get her own act together, find a job she loves, and a commute she can tolerate, and become happy on her own. You need to keep your current job. If the two of you are meant to be together, you will find ways to stay together. If you are not, the distance will show you that.
The problem with following a boy- or girlfriend is that is put a lot of pressure on both parties to make things work. Put that on top of the emotional and financial stress of moving and starting a new job and you have a problem.

You cant have it both ways.
This is the test of the strength of the relationship, so be prepared for it to go either way and be fair, to her and you.
Life is what its called.

This is easy.
1. Don't rush into something you aren't ready for.
2. But, be prepared for her to move on without you if she doesn't want to wait for you.
