Because Yahoo doesn't answer anything here. USERS (everyday people around the world) ask and answer questions here, and based on the question you mentioned, my guess is that nobody answered it because nobody knows the answer and/or it may have been posted in a category with low or no activity (perhaps the wrong category).

You may want to find a forum online for the practice or culture you mention, because most of the users here are from the US and UK, and other English speaking countries (to a lesser extent). Many, like myself, have no knowledge of the practice you reference.
