Basic biology -- you can only conceive when there is an egg present to be fertilized. How could it be otherwise?

(But actually pregnancy doesn't occur until the fertilized egg implants -- 1-2 weeks after conception. And women are fertile a few days before ovulation.

    1. You can ONLY get pregnant by having sex during fertile days/ ovulation.

    2. Ovulation follows its own schedule, not your calendar or app, so it's true that there really aren't any days when sex cannot possibly result in pregnancy.

You can become pregnant only when you ovulate, however, sperm can live up to five days in the womb, and ovulation may happen sooner or later than a person thinks, so anyone who wants to not become pregnant needs to use birth control.
