The Bible does not give the specific names of the people that did it but they were Jews. That went to get Jesus and then they took him to Herod and then Harrods man took him to a Roman magistrate who found no reason for death. The only reason that the Romans killed Jesus was that there were thousands of people standing outside demanding his death and they were all Jewish. So in order not to have a riot where Roman soldiers and a lot of Jews had to be killed. The Romans put on a big show they whipped the person that was brought to them handed him a cross March him up the mountain and put him to death.

And that way only one person died that day instead of the thousands that would have died if there would have been a conflict

    According to the Bible:

Who arrested him: Jewish officials in Jerusalem sent armed men to arrest him

Who tortured him to death on the cross: Roman soldiers under order of the "governor" Pontius Pilate

Actually it was physically the Roman Soldiers who came to arrest Him, but I always think of ALL the folks involved in His arrest and death because Pontius Pilate was the first one who could have got Jesus off but didn't, but there were many others.

For example, I have just thought of US human beings. If Adam and Eve hadn't sinned in the first place, and WE ALSO who have been sinners all of our lives, then Jesus wouldn't have had to die for us. So technically, we are ALSO responsible for Jesus' death

For example, Judas Iscariot had to betray Jesus first, or it couldn't have happened in the first place, as they didn't know who Jesus was, so Judas betrayed Jesus by kissing Him to show which one He was as He was with His disciples at the time.

Then we have to remember that it was the Jewish Leaders who got Barabbas released and Jesus arrested on bumped up false charges, by getting the Jewish rabble incited against Jesus, initially.

Then we have to remember that it was God the Father who first ordained that Jesus should die for the human race, so of course God, Jesus' Father was involved in the arrest and torture and death of His Son.

And not forgetting that the Devil himself was involved, because when the disciples and Jesus were in the upper room, Jesus said the one who dipped the sop with Him was the one responsible and when Jesus handed Judas a piece of bread dipped, the DEVIL entered into Judas.(Luke 22:3) so the Devil was the instigator of Judas being involved as he continually wanted Jesus dead.

And finally, the very one we must NOT forget is Jesus Himself, because Jesus was in AGREEMENT with His Father, that He would die for us on the Cross, and therefore, it was Jesus Himself who actually gave up His life and because He was God incarnate, took up His life again, (John 10: 17 & 18) so that He could rise from the dead and be available in heaven to pray for us human beings which Hebrews gives mention of (Hebrews 7:25)

Then even the Holy Ghost was involved, because the Bible states that it was the Holy Ghost who raised Christ from the dead.

So take your choice. I believe all those people were involved in Jesus' arrest, torture and finally His death, when He, on the Cross, said, "It is finished" and He gave up His life for us.

According to the myth, Hebrew priests forced the Roman authorities to arrest him and although those authorities did not find him guilty of any crime forced them to execute him because of a supposed violation of Hebrew law.
