    He seems to be mostly asexual. There is only one woman he admires, and she is a villain, and there has always been some ambiguity about his relationship with Watson.

    Since he is a fictional character, he could be anything you want him to be. I think he is a giant squirrel in disguise. He wears that big coat to hide his busy tail.
