Why is McDonald’s ice cream machine always broken? Answer if you work / Worked there and you know why. Read details!?

Ok so we all know for some reason McDonald’s Ice cream machine is always down. My theory is that it’s not actually broken, they just don’t want to make ice cream or shakes at the moment. If you work there or used to or know someone that does please answer! I need to know

That happened to me @ Wendy's. They're too lazy to clean the machine.

It's not they just don't want to, they say it's broke when they are cleaning it so you have no way to argue. They only have a certain few people clean those machines because if they are broke they are expensive to replace, franchisees in particular are careful about it because they have less money, so you might notice them not doing shakes and ice cream at certain times, when the trusted person is in to do it. The ice cream and shakes come out the same machine, it's not inconvenient to get you one over a soft drink, it just needs cleaning more than the fizzy drinks fountain.

  • If you get that a lot then ask to speak to the manager and find out if it's really broken, if it's not then tell the manager that the staff has been lying about the machine being broken.

I've never worked there, but I have seen people with ice cream and I live in a cold weather climate. It's winter where I am but it's unusually warm this year. I used to get their hot fudge sundays all the time.

During summer it over heats causing it to stop working and the machine can not cool down / freeze the ice-cream fast enough

I don't actually work at McDonalds, but I watched this video and it kind of explains a possible reason. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AENLAET5pfo
