You , yourself should try your faith on actually obeying Mat. 5:48 ( to become as perfect as God ) , and then decide if atheists are all that bad .

I'm an atheist, and I do understand that faith is belief without proof.

That makes faith irrational and useless.

Your other example are not believe without proof they are in fact strong correlations (or observed statistics): people who work hard "often" get rewards.

This is close to calculated probabilities: I "believe" you got no ace in your hand. In fact there are 2 aces on the flop, 1 in my hand, so I know there is only 5 % chance you got the 4th.

Those examples have nothing to do with faith.

Because most atheists cling too desperately to logical fallacies, dear.

You don't know for sure that jumping off a cliff won't kill you. But you've got good reason to believe it will. DON'T take the leap of faith that it won't kill you.

I have considerable reason to believe that the sun will be there tomorrow. It has been shining for billions of years, it's following a path that we can mathematically predict, it's not doing anything we don't expect. It makes sense to have 'faith' that it will shine tomorrow, just as its done for billions of years. We can show, mathematically, that it will most likely rise and shine.

Believing that god exists is way more unfounded. You can't possibly think it's on the same likelihood that I won't get in a car accident (the latter of the two we could calculate). I understand faith. It's not something I can personally have for things for which there is no reason to believe.

Jesus christ. I do not have faith. I have reasonable expectations based on decades of observation and experience. I dont have faith the sun will come up because I understand the goddamned sun isnt moving. The earth is. And if the earth stopped moving, I wouldnt have to wait for the sun 'to rise' to know it. The earth is spinning roughly 800 miles an hour, if it were to stop suddenly, anything not tied down is still going to be moving at 800 mph. Well, momentarily anyway. Faith is what you have when you dont have good reasons to believe something. It is not a path to truth. Maybe youve fooled yourself into thinking its a good thing, but a lot of people know better.

We understand it's what you use for your lack of evidence of a god existing. If you had any evidence faith would be unnecessary. I understand faith is not a reliable way to search for any truth. Faith can never replace facts, if you had a factual basis you would never doubt nor be upset when atheist tell you your god is not real upset that they will not validate your fantasy.

Why do people who put a lot of trust in faith not have much respect for other people's faith? (i.e. there are thousands of gods that people believe in, it takes a lot of arrogance to think that my faith is better than anybody else's)

Faith is fine in some contexts, even useful sometimes, but is hardly a reasonable thing to build one's life around.

People can believe whatever they want and that is a real thing I suppose but if we want to talk about a shared reality then we have to go with what physical evidence supports.

Why can't you understand that other people need reliably testable evidence to believe.

And You know as well as I do we're not talking about mundane things here, don't even pretend we are.

You're talking about a god, which is an extraordinary claim, and extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Present your extraordinary reliably testable evidence and you'll virtually shut down every Atheist on the planet.
