What animals would make a really good familiar for beginning wiccans?

    Ah, the good old days. I always found that any animal who was already a pet and accustomed to following my voice made a good familiar. Animals are less likely to disrupt the ritual if they trust you.

    I'm afraid my only experience with familiars is from D&D... But ferrets work pretty well. Great scouts that can easily go unnoticed and steal small objects!
