You have a diagram that horribly misled you. x was meant to be the whole angle adjacent to 32° (x itself plus the right angle). The sum of angles making a straight line totals 180°, so by the diagram as it is you have the right answer, 58°, which doesn't show in the choices. If you add this angle with the right (90°) angle, you get 148° and the answer is C). I think this has to do with a misleading diagram than a bad question in terms of why you got a right answer that doesn't appear as one of the choices. I'd concur with you...the correct answer is NONE OF THE ABOVE.

Your answer is right because angles on a straight line add up to 180 degrees and so 180 -90 -35 = 58 degrees

Hmm.. I think the problem with this question isn't necessarily your answer, but I think x is meant to be like the whole angle from the line below the "32" all the way down and around, looping back to the line between the right angle and "x"... So since a full circle would be 360 degrees, and you know the rest is 90 degrees + 32 degrees (which is 122 degrees), you can just do 360 - 122 = 148. 148 degrees is x if they want that whole thing to be the angle, which is the only thing that would make sense given the answer choices.

The sum of all angles along the single line is 180°.
One of them is a right angle, so 90°. The other that is given is 32°.
Solve for the unknown:
x + 90 + 32 = 180
x + 122 = 180
x = 58°
You get what I get. I agree that none of the answers given is correct.
This is a bad question (or a bad diagram)

The answer has to be 148º. They must be looking for the wide measurement and ignoring the line segment that goes to the left.
