    The measure of angle b is 54 degrees.

    When two lines cross, they form 4 angles. The angles that are opposite each other (like b and 54°) are called "vertical angles". The word comes from the fact that they are formed by two lines that cross at a shared *vertex* (not that they are up and down).

    Those two opposite vertical angles (e.g. b and 54°) have the same measure. Likewise angles a and c would be vertical angles with the same measure.
