Certain things are seen as important when in essence they aren't. Then there's what you totally may not notice, but truly cannot live without.

Having a job, and having your driver's license is important in life.
That's all that's important in life.

If something is seen, by a person, to be important, then it is important, to that person.
If you say, "Certain things are seen as important when in essence they aren't." all you're really saying is that your idea of what's important is right, and everybody else's is wrong.
The only way to find out what's important in life is ask someone, try to get the person to put some thought into the answer, listen, and try again. If their words are honest, then they will also be correct, whether you agree or not.
And you are just as much "someone" as everybody else.

Inasmuch as you are a professing, believing Christian, perhaps the additional importants include keeping under one's body temple (= keeping healthy), a sacred labor or vocation of service, loving others, including family, as self, raising children with the opportunities to know God and Christ by parents' examples. Would note C. S. Lewis' "The Great Divorce."
