How much does a smartphone usually cost?

WITHOUT a contract

Update:

Yeah, I guess that sound right. I paid about 700 dollars for my new phone and it was difficult, I had to save up for a while. But now people keep telling me that I've been ripped off and I should have found a cheaper phone

Update 2:

thanks everyone

That depends. With or without a contract doesn’t matter, the contract just allows you to pay it back over a number of months rather than all at once. A new, name brand, well working phone will be around $1000. The worst but cheapest knockoff brand phone could be as low as $60. That phone will freeze up aaaallll the time, mainly only good for your great grandparents who only want to make calls. A decent phone for a low price(not name brand) that will meet your basic needs is probably $300. Personally I have an older model of a name brand phone and it’s great, doesn’t have new features but I only need it to work well for music and basic stuff. Costed me $700.

Source(s): I used to be a phone salesperson. I know about lots of different brands and who buys what and what the price tends to be.

It dependes on your location, the features, the store you shop in, the tie of the year, etc !!

iPhones, which are popular, cost from $449-$1200.

Samsung Galaxies, which are also popular, cost from $262-$837.

Cheaper Androids are also pretty good.

Old-fashion phone contracts no longer exist. Now, you get a phone and either pay cash or pay it off over 24 months. You can get inexpensive flip phones from companies such as StraightTalk at Walmart but they won't have the functions of more expensive phones.

For the low end version, 200 or less. For the high end version like the iPhone XS Max, upwards of 1500.

Between $150 and $1,500, depending on make and model, and whether it's been used or not.
