Lol. In all-irony I was a Bible student and my teacher was German-born and I would show up on-the-dot and he goes: "You must be German!"
Tidsoptimism is quite weird in my opinion.
I had a workmate that was chronically 5 minutes late like every day and I wondered why she couldn't just leave 5 minutes earlier each day to arrive on time.
It's not rocket science.
Maybe sub-consciously (if they get away with it) it's their way to silently protest the unwanted schedule and make themselves feel better about it.
Punctuality is robust and kinda cool.
Germany is kinda cool.

Ignoring the humour you intended in your question Jesus will not be late. We have not been given an appointed time. He will return when the time is right and the bible makes it clear that it will happen when no-one is expecting it. That is why we must always be in a state of readiness.

2 Peter 3:9 says "GOD IS NOT SLOW concerning his promise, as some people consider slowness, but HE IS PATIENT with you because he does not desire ANYONE to be destroyed but desires ALL to attain to repentance."
God will send Jesus at the right moment. There are prophecies being fulfilled now, 1Timothy 3:1-5, Luke 21, Matthew 24 & 2 Peter 3:3, 4.
This is to be done meanwhile: We read in Matthew 24:14 "And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, AND THEN THE END WILL COME"
