Dog Barking, Does Not Stop!?
I have a dog that barks constantly. What a the reason? All of them. He barks at people outside, he barks for attention, he barks just because as sometimes there is no definable reason. I tried training for years, he s about 10 years old and I ve been trying through most of them. I used to hate bark collars but after years of no success I finally got one; and you know what? He could care less about it. It worked for a couple days before he started ignoring it. I went and got a sound emitter, the ones with the high pitch noise and he ignores that too. I am at the end of my rope, any suggestions, like, there are no wrong answers.

This dog is just a yapper I'm afraid and if after 10 years you've not managed to stop this behaviour, then I'm afraid he'll stop once he's dead.

Wow, this is a tricky one. I'm usually not a fan of bark collars either, but it sounds like you've tried quite a few things! May I ask what breed he is? Maybe you could try a trainer?
I know it helps my friend to shut all the curtains when she is out, and leave the TV on loud. You could also try a stronger bark collar. Sometimes they are defective, maybe the one you used was? I usually don't like them, but I know sometimes there just isn't another good option, and it seems like you have tried for a while. What about more exercise?
Definitely try the curtains shut and TV's on loud in every room too, at least when you aren't home. When you are home, make him go to time out when he barks. It will take quite a while if he is older, but this might help. And give treats for not barking!

So have you IMMEDIATELY corrected him for the barking when it happens? Leash him to your waist and when he barks you immediately react to stop it.

Dogs bark because they are… bored, anxious, stressed, defending territory, or trying to warn you about something. Barking is seen in juvenile but not adult wolves and appears to be an automatic response to an excess of emotion more than anything - shocking the dog or citronelling it will not help it to calm the heck down and therefore will not stop the barking.
I suggest the following:
(1) Set your alarm an hour earlier every morning and run/walk the dog an hour before you leave for work.
(2) Train the dog in a few short sessions throughout the day - focus on calming, control exercises like “wait while I lower this treat” and down-stays and leave-its and hold-a-sit-until-released while playing fetch.
(3) If the dog is barking because it can see or hear something, block visual access and leave on a radio. Closing the blinds or moving a chair so the dog can’t see out of the window goes a long way!
(4) Calmly acknowledge alert barking. Walk over, look at whatever it is, say calmly “thanks for letting me know” and go back to your business. Screaming at the dog just cues them that SQUIRRELS ARE STRESSFUL, ignoring means they have to be louder to get your attention, an acknowledgement and then ignoring what they were barking at, tells them that you do listen to their alerts, but don’t consider squirrels worth barking about.

SO he is 10 years old and you "used" to walk him?
What is this dogs breed and how much exercise and training did you give him when he was young?
I mean there is proper exercise and then there is a stroll round the block for half and hour or a run around a dog park now and then.
How can anyone help when we don`r know what breed the dog is and how long since he received any real exercise or training.
Of course he barks at all and sundry if he is bored.
Not enough info to be able to give you any positive advice.

Often, barking is an indication of boredom. Does he get walked every day? What other activities do you do with him and how often?
