Google Indore compost method or Howard Indore. base compost is equal parts green and brown plus a starter. For that- a bushel of old leaves from fall drop and a bushel of grass clippings then add a gallon of chicken litter or cow droppings, pig droppings. layer green on brown, scatter starter and let set a week, then turn over- 3 bushel grass and leaves better- a critical mass is needed for heat retention that does breakdown into fertile compost-, make new pile. Sheet composting,, french intensive beds are shallow trench filled with alternate shovels/forks of died leaves, grass clippings, manure then topped with the previously dug soil to make a 'raised bed.' .Large manure piles often turned over every 3 weeks to speed up process- end loader for largest piles, hand fork for garden sized 3 to 4 foot high and 6 to 8 foot long at start.
