Will a bad ac compressor affect the engine will it still drive ok?
So I m getting heat from my car the other day it was hot so i turned the a.c. on only to find out there is no ac coming on. No weird noise coming from engine either. So if it is a bad compressor will this affect the engine in anyway?

99% of the time the AC doesn't work is because the 134a refrigerant leaked out and the system needs to be recharged.

A modern system has many safeguards, one being a pressure switch that will shut-down the compressor if there is insufficient refrigerant in the system.
Keep the system turn-off which keeps the electric compressor clutch disengaged.......the only thing that can happen then would be if the clutch itself is defective and seizes - the result would be a burned/broken drive belt.

No, unless the compressor itself seizes up.

I don't know why it would .... But don't turn on the AC anymore if it doesn't work anyway .
