If I have the implant (nexplanon) in addition to taking the pill everyday, am I at a lower risk of becoming pregnant?

I am on both because the implant gave me irregular periods so my doctor told me to start taking the pill. Ever since I started also taking the pill, my boyfriend hasn’t been pulling out. I’m worried I may have signs of being pregnant but I’m not sure if taking the pill in addition to the implant makes it more effective or if it doesn’t have any impact whatsoever. Please help

You're on TWO of the most effective forms of birth control. Your chance of pregnancy is virtually nil.

The side effects of hormonal birth control are often very similar to pregnancy symptoms. It is far more likely that your symptoms are actually just side effects of the pill.

If you forget to take a pill, you are still on the implant - the chances of both of those failing is extremely low. So, the difference is that you don't have to panic if you miss a pill.

The ONLY other thing you could do to make absolutely sure that you don't become pregnant would be to stop having sex. Pulling out or not pulling out makes no difference at all. He could make multiple deposits every day and it wouldn't increase your risk of becoming pregnant.
