Perhaps he was merely bored? Assuming that God is real, the universe could be considered his video game.

Why do you imagine that God perceives anyone as an enemy?

If a single ant struggles to topple you as you walk by, do you perceive it as an enemy?

Even if you are aware of the ant?

Nothing is so powerful as to be an enemy from God's perspective

no matter who or what sets itself up as an enemy of God.

He created FREE WILL, which Lucifer abused. Look at all the atheists running about today. They were given free will and they choose to squander it by siding with the devil.

On the contrary! It is very common. Even Superman is said to have his exact opposite in the bizzaro world. And Superman isn't a god.

    Very stupid.

It’s almost like he was created by imperfect humans.

The good old stick and carrot method. It was very good for controlling highly superstitious and not very intelligent goat fvckers.

And if anyone questioned the ridiculousness of it all... they were stoned or burned at the stake.

The devil poses no threat to God, but he is a pain in the butt for us. Also, Jesus not locking up the fallen angels, but letting them run amok, is quite irritating. Just being straight up. I know of no law which God must follow that says He must prove Himself to the devil, or allow the rebellious angels to roam around freely and not be imprisoned. If there is such a law, I have no awareness of it. I get that God is all-knowing and everything He does has a point to it, even if it is about giving us all the realization that life without Him is not good. The method He has chosen to prove that we need Him, we should desire Him, and He is the most competent to rule is not without some elements of cruelty.

Allowing the devil into the garden of good (allowing something evil in a place which was deemed good) certainly isn't a good thing. And also remaining silent while Adam and Eve were approached by the devil wasn't good. And if you want to protect your children from falling off the tree house, you build up a railing to block off the means of falling - you don't stick an evil tree within arms reach. Parents are supposed to look ahead and think of things that will be potentially hazardous, like light sockets, and put up safety measures to block off their children from such things - and a failure to take such actions (especially when you can foresee the dangers) is called negligence.

But all this being said, we would not even be alive without God. The devil thinking he can do God's job is quite stupid. Fighting against the only person who is keeping us alive, is pure insanity. And God is most competent to rule over His creations -- and all this is just factual. If you like living, or desire a better life, it is best to stick with God. The devil has nothing good to offer, but only attempts to keep us from a life which will be better than this one. God doesn't have to love us, listen to our prayers, and keep us alive -- and we certainly don't have anything to offer Him, for all the things He is able to give to us.

I just try to weigh things out, and I'll be happy when Jesus does His job and stops outsourcing or allowing His peon creatures to attempt to do His job. Part of good leadership requires good delegation, and if no one does things better than you, than you just need to do things yourself. I get the fact that all these realizations that God wants us to learn are important for our understanding (and He does this because of His foreknowledge), and thought His plan or strategy is not non-sensical . . . the devil was nevertheless created by Him, the tree of evil was created by Him, access to said garden was given by Him, and the free-roaming evil angels are allowed by Him.

    Here's what the Bible says:

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. - Joshua 24:15, KJV

I owe no loyalty to the devil. He's not on my side, and all he can offer me is the same road that I'd be on without him, and that is the road to destruction. Life is short on this earth, but eternity is much longer. And no blessings on earth will top what's in store for those who stick with God. I want to see what life is supposed to be like, because it is so corrupt and so backwards. The devil's kingdoms, though they are many, are all like crappy Twilight zones, puny realities and puny systems - but God's one system will top all the devil's poor systems.

The empires of the devil come and go, and despite how large they become, they are all destined to fall. I love righteousness, goodness, truth, and justice - and God says He loves all these things - and I desire to live under the rulership and authority of a person who upholds all these things. And God certainly doesn't have to love me or bless me, though I know He has all throughout my life. It's not so much that I care about preserving my life alive, nor does living for all eternity pose as an attractive concept for me given the fact that I haven't been a big fan of existence so far - but I feel like my creation would be worthless, if I didn't get to see and witness how the rulership of Jesus will be. I have nothing else I am living for, and if He can't make life good and right, then existence is not even worth it. If Jesus sucks then life sucks, pure and simple. If God is not Good, then Life is not good.

Whoever writes a story can make it any way desired.

The enemy was pretty much a requirement for the story. A story is quite lame without some controversy such as a villain.
