cure for fever blister?
every time I have a fever or am under a lot of stress for a long time, I get a God awful cold sore that tries to eat my face. its on my nose and travels up into my nostrils. I am miserable. its horrible, painful, UGLY, gross to look at, and can last weeks. the doctor gave me anti virals and an ANTIBIOTIC cream (why??) and it didn't help at all, it still hung around for about 2 weeks. Abreva helps with a basic cold sore, but wont help a fever blister, which for me is a cold sore on steroids.
dianne a: i know a cold sore is the same as a fever blister. i should have made that clear. i call it a fever blister because its the cold sore i get anytime i have a FEVER. which is soooo much worse than any other cold sore i would get normally.

A fever blister is a cold sore, is herpes (they are all names for the exact same thing--the herpes virus); see about low grade suppressive therapy with an antiviral to help. You have an aggressive strain
