What will become of your body?
Yes i know how morbid it is, but i think its important in the long run to consider your options
Funerals are expensive even with life insuranse. It may be preached as the best and normal, but it could cause your family to woory about the pricetag and we could be running out of room in graveyards.
Cremation is cheaper with less preptime and the remains can be securely kept by your loved ones. However the emmisions from body-burning can be toxic especialy if embalming was used foe a wake.
Comunal graves are more sustainable but finding and getting to one might be trickier then visiting your local funeral home.
There are a few more options then these but for now lets considee the 3 people are familiar with.

When the time comes, I hope to be buried alongside my dog/s and cat. I won't ask for a proper burial or anything. Just place me in the ground alongside my pets who will likely have passed away before me.

In May of last year I made pre arrangements to be cremated. And scattered at sea. Don't want the decision or cost to be a burden to relatives. Plowing through my parent's deaths and estate settlements made me realize how prudent it is to plan in advance.

I have donated my body to The Human Anatomy Centre at the University of Cambridge UK.
Medical students will cut it up to get a hands on experience of the human body and learn
from it.
I feel it is better to be of some use even after death than just rot away in the ground.

Cremated or donated to science, whichever is cheaper. Did have it arranged to go for science, found a place that used to do it for free, now they charge. As far as ashes or what not, that is up to those left behind to decide, I don't see the point of it, nor do I see the point in funerals and such, dead is dead, gone, end of story, move on.

Death is the issue more than any of that. Death leads to immediate heaven or hell, depending only on whether you believed in Jesus for eternal life, or not.
.
The truth is that Jesus loves you and wants to bless your life freely :) Most of all, Jesus wants you with Him forever, and not in hell. The truth is that every belief except one will lead to eternal torment in the lake of fire for every person. Because nothing pays for our sins except the death and blood of Jesus, the sacrifice of Jesus that is already accomplished by Him . Jesus loves you! The truth is that Jesus is God, and Jesus died on the cross to pay for all of our sins in full, and then Jesus resurrected from the dead. Nothing else pays for our sins, not works, not deeds, not religions. So the only way to heaven and to avoid hell, is by believing in Jesus for eternal life (John 6:47), without adding any of your own works (Romans 4:5). Believe in Jesus to take you to heaven, and you will be in heaven, no matter what, guaranteed. That easy, thanks to Jesus! Tell Jesus that you thank Him that you will be with Him in heaven when you die, because you believe in Jesus! It is too late to be saved, after death

I'd like my body donated to science. Otherwise I'd prefer a natural burial.

My personal choice is cremation.
I want my funeral to be as low cost as possible and to have zero ongoing maintenance costs, so there will be no gravesite. To me visiting a gravesite is pointless and it should matter more what memories people have of you in their hearts.
However I respect other choices too. Some families choose to build great mausoleums to bury their dead. If they want to do this and are prepared to pay the exorbitant cost, then by all means go ahead with it. That method will just become more expensive of course, due to skyrocketing overpopulation.

I'd love to donate organs to people who need them. As for the rest of my dead body..? I do NOT want it to be embalmed. It is both pointless and toxic to the environment.
Other than that, I would prefer cremation, I think. As it saves more resources, and takes up less space. And I would appreciate for the ashes to be buried in a family grave, and for my name to appear next to the names of my deceased loved ones.
As for whether or not my family had a funeral..? I would leave that entirely up to them! They wouldn't have to do it for my sake, if they didn't have the money... The dead person is dead, and has already moved on. So funerals, in my opinion..? Should be for the ones that have been left behind. To soothe THEIR pain. I could personally do both with and without one, either way. :)

I'm going to be cremated, and any fumes will be minimal as we don't have wakes or embalming or open caskets in my country. Then my ashes will be scattered in a place which meant a lot to me.
