Seven distinct spiritual beings In the New Testament, the Greek term "Dynamis" (translated by some as Virtues suggests a class of exalted spiritual beings; perhaps parallel to the "chief Princes" (Sar rishown) in the Old Testament, of which the Archangel Michael is stated to be one Daniel 10:13.Dynamis" is used by the Apostle Paul to refer to spiritual beings in Romans 8:38; Ephesians 1:21, 3:10, 6:12; and Colossians 1:16, 2:10, 2:15. "Powers and principalities" can apply to both angelic and devilish beings, but more often in the New Testament to devilish beings. However, it should be noted, most modern Protestant translators take "Dynamis" to mean "strength", "power", or "ability", whereas the ancient and modern Catholic conception of activity or power was often understood as virtues.Others follow this line of thought, though find the connect to "dynamis" referred to by Paul less likely. It is possible that these seven angels are a special entourage charged with special duties by the Lamb, about whom we have little to no specific knowledge.Still others look to the apocryphal work 1 Enoch which refers to seven angels who are "watching" creation: Uriel, Raphael, Raguel, Michael, Sarakiel/Suriel (in 9.1), Gabriel, and Phanuel, who is mentioned as one of the four chief angels in 40.9.Symbolic of perfectionSevenfold may also be connected with the biblical understanding of the number 7 representing perfection. The "Seven Fold Spirit of God" could be the "perfect" Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit.John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; The seven Spirits of God .Greek: τα επτα πνευματα του θεου, ta hepta pneumata tou theou) are mentioned four times in the Book of Revelation, and in the book of Isaiah it names each Spirit.John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

As they say, 'let scripture interpret scripture'.
If you read the surrounding passages, it talks about the seven angels of the seven churches. Angels are ministering spirits.
Open up something like blueletterbible.com and read the section again. Most people make mistakes when they read an isolated verse without understanding the full context of what is being said. Then they add their own 'spiritualized interpretation' to it (which is usually wrong).
For instance, most of the parables seem to confuse a lot of people. But half the time, Jesus would explain exactly what the parable meant a few verses later.
Unfortunately in Christianity, we have learned to memorize verses but not actually read the whole counsel of what is being said. As I said, scripture will often interpret itself if we thoughtfully read through it.
I highly suggest a book like Grasping God's Word by Scott Duvall. It is a college textbook, but very accessible and easy to understand.

This reference to "the seven spirits" is found in Revelation 1:4 / 3:1 / 4:5 /5:6.
Holy spirit is given to accomplish an operation. The expression "the seven spirits" indicates the fullness of its operation in giving understanding and blessings to those who pay attention to the prophecy.
Why 7? The number seven represents completeness from God's standpoint. The book of Revelation deals with bringing “to a finish"/completion “the sacred secret of God (Revelation 10:7).

The seven-fold Spirit of God is described as surrounding the throne of God in Heaven, where the Lamb is at the centre of that throne. All Heaven's creatures worship before that scene. The picture in Revelation chapter 4 is of the Godhead - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In the Bible, the number 7 denotes spiritual perfection or completeness. So, referring to the seven Spirits would mean the wholeness or totality of the Holy Spirit.
