Why are people so virulently bigoted against trans folks? Bigots are insecure in their own sexual identity?

I wish I knew! I honestly think transphobes lack certain elements of introspection, sentience, and basic human empathy.

Why are some people so all-consuming obsessed with their sexuality? Sex is just a tiny part of life and living.

They are frightened at the idea that sometimes we guess wrong when we suppose that an infant will grow up to be some particular gender. The idea of a world where 1% of the population doesn't fit neatly into a "Either you're this or you're that; no other possible options" dichotomy is scary to some people. Why, I don't know. Some people just tend to base their views on fearfulness rather than on realistic assessment of risk.

Bigoted people always expect that everyone else will adapt their own narrow views. They see the world in terms of black and white and lack the capacity to consider alternatives and the empathy to imagine the experience of others

Because they don't believe it is a real thing. They believe it is a mental disorder that needs treated. Catering to the disorder will only exacerbate the condition.

Calling people that disagree with you derogatory names instead of have substantive discussions will only lead to further entrenchment and serves no purpose but as an immediate emotional salve.

I could care less if they want to mutilate their bodies.

As long as they don't cost me money, let them do what they want.
