Why are Christian made movies so terrible?
They have enough money to make them good but the acting and plot lines so awful? America is mostly made up of Christians and they would make a ton of money if they were done well.

Because making good art requires rebellion. It requires stepping back from conventions. Christian conservative propaganda remains far too on the nose. Too obviously propaganda. To hide itself yet. There is not art or artistry in it. Just a bald preaching. That strips any but dogged zealots of any interest. In its blatant messages.

"Why are Christian made movies so terrible?"
It's because you are comparing them to secular movies you are used to watching. Of course, they aren't gonna have sex, naked bodies and blood and guts shooting everywhere.

I don't think the budgets are that high. Most Christian projects have to raise money through donations.
Also, many Christian projects prefer only Christians be working on them - at least in the important positions. That radically limits the talent pool for the actors/writers/directors/producers etc.

They try too hard, and it ends up getting cheesy. I'm more impressed with the message of faith in something like Braveheart than some of the cheesy Christian films. Just saying.

Strange, isn't it? The last good one was "The Ten Commandments" from like 70 years ago.
